Before Laser Hair Removal (Pre-Treatment Instructions)
Avoid sun exposure:Stay out of direct sunlight for 2–4 weeks before treatment.
Do not use tanning beds or self-tanners.
Shave the area:Shave 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams — the hair root must remain for the laser to target it.
Avoid other hair removal methods:No waxing, tweezing, or threading for 4–6 weeks before treatment.
Avoid certain products/medications:Stop using retinoids, glycolic/salicylic acid, or acne medications (like Accutane) as instructed (often 1–2 weeks prior).
After Laser Hair Removal (Post-Treatment Instructions)
Redness/swelling is normal:
Avoid heat:No hot showers, baths, saunas, or intense workouts for 24–48 hours.
No sun exposure:Avoid sun/tanning beds for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.
Use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ on treated areas daily.
No plucking or waxing:
Shaving between treatments is okay.
Moisturize gently:Use a non-irritating moisturizer to help soothe the skin.
