Dr. Iyad Abuward is a Spanish Board-certified Consultant Nephrologist with over 15 years of experience in nephrology and renal care. His areas of expertise include Interventional Nephrology, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, chronic kidney disease and renal transplantation.
He completed his MBBS and PhD in Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, with his PhD awarded Cum Laude. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Interventional and Diagnostic Nephrology from the University of Alcalá de Henares.
Dr. Iyad has extensive clinical and academic experience in Spain and the UAE. He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications and book chapters in the field of nephrology, and is the author of a book on Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. He has also participated as a speaker at national and international nephrology conferences.
In recognition of his contribution to the field, Dr. Iyad received the European Award in Medicine – Nephrology in 2021.
